Virat Kohli holds the record for scoring the most runs for India in ICC finals. Kohli is the only Indian batsman to have scored more than 200 runs in ICC title matches.
It is not possible that there is an ICC title match and the Indian batsmen do not disappoint. Team India’s batsmen have been ineffective in big matches for the last few years, due to which the team’s dream of winning the title remains incomplete every time. Same is the condition of Team India in the final match of the ongoing World Test Championship in England. Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, Cheteshwar Pujara and Virat Kohli, present in the top-4, got a good start, but could not convert it into a big score. In the final of the WTC against Australia, Ravindra Jadeja looked a bit impressive, scoring 48 runs. However, before the end of the second day, he too was shown the way to the pavilion by Nathan Lyon.
However, on the basis of his innings, Jadeja managed to make it to the top-5 list of Indian batsmen who scored the most runs in ICC title matches. This is Jadeja’s 5th ICC final and he has scored 127 runs so far. In terms of runs, he has left behind veterans like Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, Yuvraj Singh and MS Dhoni.
Let me tell you, Virat Kohli holds the record for scoring the most runs for India in ICC finals. Kohli is the only Indian batsman to have scored more than 200 runs in ICC title matches. Including this 14-run innings against Australia, Kohli’s name has reached 231 runs in 7 innings. Apart from him, Gautam Gambhir, Rohit Sharma and Sourav Ganguly are present in the top-5.
