“But on the other hand, I also hope that at some point this atmosphere of hatred will become exhausting. How far can you go spreading hatred? I think and hope that the way they have suddenly surrounded us will also disappear. But it will not happen anytime soon,” , he added.

Mumbai: Veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah is known for his bold acting skills and bold statements. They clearly state their views on various issues. He had made a statement in a recent interview about the film ‘The Kerala Story,” directed by Sudipto Sen. Not only this, he targeted the government through this film. In another interview, he has now openly expressed himself about ‘The Kerala Story‘. “Strong films like Bheed, Rumor, and Faraz were flops. No one went to see that movie. But people are flocking to The Kerala Story. I haven’t seen that movie, and I don’t want to. Because I have read enough about it”, he said.

Not only this, Naseeruddin Shah called the success of the film ‘The Kerala Story‘ a ‘dangerous trend’. He compared it to Nazi Germany. “On the one hand, this is a dangerous trend, no doubt. It looks like we are going the way of Nazi Germany. When filmmakers were co-opted during the Hitler era, attempts were made to make films that glorified the Supreme Leader. It can show what the supreme leader did for his countrymen and how he strengthened the Jewish community. Many master filmmakers from Germany left that place and came to Hollywood and made films there. The same seems to be happening here. Either stay on the right side, stay neutral, or side with the establishment”, he said, targeting the government.

“But on the other hand, I also hope that this atmosphere of hatred will become exhausting at some point. How far can you go spreading hate? I think and hope that the way they have suddenly surrounded us will also disappear. But all this will not happen soon”, he added.

In an earlier interview, he had appealed to the artists to raise their voices. “The only way to fight against films made to spread bigotry, propaganda, and misinformation is for artists to raise their voices. But there are not many such actors in the industry”, he had said.
