Central Railway Apprentice Vacancy 2023-24

Central Railway is gearing up to release Apprentice Vacancies for the upcoming year 2023-24. Aspiring candidates can anticipate opportunities for apprenticeships in various trades within the Central Railway network, providing a valuable pathway for skill development and employment.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the apprentice vacancies, candidates must fulfil the following criteria:

• Age:

1. The minimum age to apply is 15 years and the maximum age is 24 years. Age relaxation is applicable for reserved categories as per government norms.
2. Upper Age Realxation – 05 years for SC / ST and 03 years for OBC

• Education:

1. 10th class (Matric) examination passed or its equivalent with minimum 50% marks.
2. National Trade Certificate / ITI in relevant trade issued by the National Council for Vocational Training or Provisional Certificate issued by National Council for Vocational Training / State Council for Vocational Training.

• Physical Fitness: Candidates must be physically fit as per the medical standards set by the Railway Recruitment Board.
• Central Railway Apprentice Trades: Fitter, Welder, Carpenter, Painter, Tailor, Electrician, Programming & Systems Administration Assistant, Mechanic Diesel, Turner, Machinist, Instrument Mechanic, Laboratory Assistant, Electronic Mechanic, Painter, Mechanic Machine Tools Maintenance, Computer Operator & Programming Assistant, Information Technology & Electronic System Maintenance etc.

Central Railway Apprentice Salary / Stipend: ₹ 7000/- per month for National or State Certificate Holder.

Selection Process

The selection process for the apprentice vacancies will consist of a merit list based on the marks obtained in the 10th standard and the National Trade Certificate. Shortlisted candidates will be called for document verification.

• Selection will be on the basis of merit list prepared in respect of all the candidates who apply against the notification.
• The merit list will be prepared on the basis of percentage of marks in matriculation (with minimum 50% aggregate marks) + ITI marks in the trade in which Apprenticeship is to be done.
• The panel will be on the basis of simple average of marks in the matriculation and ITI.

Central Railway Apprentice Application Fee

• A Non Refundable fee of ₹ 100/-.
• The Fee payment will have to be made online through payment gateway – using debit card / credit card / Internet Banking / SBI Challan etc.

• Candidates should be in possession of Aadhaar Card. At the time of registration, candidates have to fill 12 digit Aadhaar Card number.
